01 // the challenge

No visual guidance in unprepared landing zones creates operational risk

In the real world, such operationsare often unavoidable

Private operators,HEMS and corporate aviation regularly face situations where:

- Night landings are required at temporary or unprepared sites

- Locations are remote and lack lighting infrastructure

- Backup lighting is needed for existing landing areas

- Permanent heliport construction is impractical or not economically justified

The lack of visualreference results in:

- Increased pilot workload

- Reduced safety margins

- Limited operational capability

SPAR-TAC enables safe night operations without the need for permanent infrastructure

MARKET POSITION

Represents the state of the art in the portable aviation lighting segment

  • Engineered for professional operators requiring rapid deployment, autonomous performance, wireless control, configurable system architecture, and compatibility with visible and NVG-compatible operations. Developed on the latest hardware and software platform to ensure maximum flexibility, reliability, and future scalability.

SYSTEM ARCHITECTURE

Distributed wireless architecture with secure bi-directional communication

  • The system operates as a distributed wireless network with an optional iOS application layer for advanced configuration and control:-Control unit (MCU4-LORA) sends commands and receives system status in the field-The iOS application provides centralized configuration, monitoring, and firmware management-Light units (UML5-IRVIS) execute commands and exchange data with each other-The high-intensity beacon with windsock (HBE22-MWS-G/IR) can be integrated as an optional relay, heliport identifier, and wind indicator.

  • A dedicated iOS application enables:-Individual configuration of each light unit-Adjustment of color, intensity, and operating modes (steady, flashing, sequence lighting)-Assignment of lighting groups (TLOF, FATO, obstruction, taxiway, beacon, sequence)-GPS-based positioning of each light unit with map-based layout planning and on-site deployment-Wireless firmware updates-Real-time system monitoringThe iOS application is provided as a free, optional tool.

  • -Map-based configuration(optional): lighting groups can be planned in the application and then deployed on site, following the defined layout and GPS positions.-Radio-silent mode (optional): light units and the beacon may not transmit status data unless explicitly requested by the control unit

  • -The system can operate independently without the Remote Control Unit (MCU4-LORA) and application connection.-Light units can be configured via the Remote Control Unit and then operated manually using a physical button on each unit.

  • Control unit → Beacon→ Light units (inter-communication)The high-intensity beacon mounted on a 4.5 m portable telescopic mast with an integrated windsock serves as a visual heliport identifier, extending system control range up to 20 km and increasing visual detection range up to 15 km, when deployed as optional additional equipment with a wind indicator. The beacon receives the command from the control unit, activates itself, and distributes the signal to all light units, extending system coverage. At the same time, the beacon, the control, and the light units maintain inter-device communication, forming a synchronized wireless network. The windsock (600 mm diameter, 2.4 m length) is designed in accordance with ICAO Annex 14 - Aerodromes - Volume II - Heliports recommendations.-Up to 20 km control range when using the beacon as a relay

  • Bi-directional encrypted communicationensures reliable system operation.Light units and the beacon:-transmit real-time status data to the control unit-exchange data with each other via a secure wireless protocol-Send command execution confirmations back to the control unit, with an optional passive communication mode enabling status transmission only upon request
The control unit continuously verifies system status and confirms that all commands are executed without errors. This enables:-Real-time status monitoring-Reliable command execution-Inter-device synchronization-Closed-loop control and system integrity

  • Control unit → Light units (direct communication)The control and the light units maintain inter-device communication, forming a synchronized wireless network.-Up to 5 km control range in direct line-of-sight operation (without beacon)

  • The system maintains operational capability in case of communication loss.
Light units continue operating in the last assigned mode
Manual control via the onboard interface ensures continued operation
Distributed architecture prevents a single point of failure
System integrity is preserved under degraded conditions
